Creating this Website

Okay, so, I made this website probably two or three years ago for my media production class that I took in high school. But after I made it, I never really touched it, and after coming back to it for this class, it was looking rough... to say the least. I hadn't really made it mine, you know. It looked a little too professional and didn't really show too much of me or what I had to offer.

The first thing I knew I needed to change was to make it so I was actually shown somewhere on it, instead of the stock photos that came with the site. So after some extensive searching for photos of myself (surprisingly I barely have any of just me), I found two photos that I really liked and showed me throughout my journey in film and media creation. The first of which being the photo with my two friends, Charlotte and Amal.

We actually took this photo while in New York for the All American High School Film Festival, which our school had gotten invited to attend. This was the first place where I realized, "yeah this is what I want to do for the rest of my life."
The second picture I chose was from when I got to work with the White House Press Team and film a press conference with Joe Biden. That was the first real BIG step that I took in the industry and the first time I got to work something that was that high profile.
The next thing that I decided to change was the color scheme, which let me tell you, that took many tries. Like a lot. I am very picky when it comes to colors, especially when it comes to the background color. I don't like really bright colors when looking at websites, so that was the main thing I tried to stay away from, and I think I perfectly balanced not bright, but also not really depressing/grungy colors (like the colors I chose for my first website).
The profile picture I'm currently using at the time of writing this is my Astronaut that I use for most of my accounts, like my email and twitter. I wanted to keep the same kind of branding, but I intend to change it to a picture of myself and/or a new logo once I become better versed in Adobe Illustrator. I did change the background behind the astronaut so that it popped a bit more, but other than that, I didn't really change much about it. It's a profile picture that I have had for over a year now, so it has sort of cemented its place in my heart.
Lastly, the last thing that you most likely noticed when looking at my website was the animated logo that pops up when you are on the home page. Now that, that I have done a lot of debating over whether or not I actually wanted to include it. I made it like two years ago and I really like the style that I was going for, but I definitely think that I could switch some things up depending on the feedback that I'll get when we look over our websites in class.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, it really means a lot. I hope you have a lovely day. See you next time :)
