Pictures and Emotion

Okay, now that I have actually gone out and taken photos, I wanted to let you know how it has gone.

I actually really liked this project, especially since I wanted to take some more art courses this semester. The reason that I really liked this project is because I finally got to go out and take some pictures in nature, especially at the Duck Pond and the Hahn Garden. I actually had not been to the Hahn Garden yet and oh my god, I am so mad at myself that I have not gone to it sooner. It is so beautiful.

When it came to taking the photos, it was not that as hard as I was thinking it was going to be. Since we weren't really supposed to use human subjects, which I only used once I believe. A really liked the more close up pictures that I took, especially the one that I took of the white flowers with the darker background. That was easily my favorite one I took.

When it came to actually sitting down and editing the photos, that is when I had a bit more trouble. It is safe to say, I am not as good at Photoshop as I thought I was. It could also be due to the fact that I have not touched the software in nearly two years. But either way, I had a much harder time with it.

When it came to making the emotion feel different, I chose to take the path of simply using color changing and slightly altering the image, since I didn't want to take away too much from the original picture. My favorite edit that I did was the one that is in the cave. I took all the color out of it and brought down the exposure from the original image so that it felt more desolate and sad.

Here is the slideshow of some of the work. Feel free to look through them!

The next step in the project is to actually present this to the rest of my class, so I will make sure to return to this after that presentation.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!
