Oh Yeah, It's All Coming Together

Over the last two weeks my group and I have been working diligently to create a piece of music using the Pd-L2Ork Tweeter software that I discussed in an earlier blog post. Now I am going to be honest, this was hard, like really hard. I have a little bit of practice using DAW softwares such as Ableton and Studio One, but this was in a league of its own, and I loved it.
The process that our group chose to do is that we would all go home and make a beat or instrument that we really liked, and then we would bring it together the next time that we all met up, where we would see what worked with what. This worked pretty well for us actually, and after a few meetings and jumping over some technical hurdles, we made something that was somewhat cohesive.
But although we had something that kinda worked, it wasn't finished. No we still had a couple more times meeting where we all wanted to keep working to make it better. We all would just keep changing our instruments, since we knew that the beats worked, and Matt came across a bird sound, which made our piece sound a little bit like a rainforest. Sort of.

We continued to build off this. And the class before we had to present, we got it. With it sounding something completely different from two class periods before, we knew that we had it right.
Now since none of us really had any clue about how to use the program well and especially consistently well, we decided to keep the piece simple. And that was the best decision that we made during this whole project, because although it was simple, it sounded good, like really good. And we were really proud of what we had made.
We present it tomorrow in class, so I will be sure to make another post to share how it went, and hopefully I will be able to share the piece with you.
Thank you for reading, I hope you have a great rest of your day.
